BAD overbite?

if i have a really bad overbite how long do you THINK i'll have braces?

ohh and two of my front teeth are way longer then the others[buck teeth] what can i do??

BAD overbite?
Alhough it would be nice to know now, You really won't be able to have an answer until an orthodontist has examined you and taken x-rays and impressions done.

Plan on at least 2 years. It will go by quickly, I promise. Also, if you have a severe overbite, please also have a consultation with an oral surgeon. If it is also caused because of your jaw, braces alone cannot fix it.

I wore braces as a teen for 2 years and while it did fix my buck teeth and straighten them, I still could not close my mouth and I was not told about jaw surgery. Now, as an adult, I am wearing braces once again and scheduled for surgery in a few weeks. Hopefully yours is not as bad as mine.
Reply:at least a yr!
Reply:at least 2 to 2 1/2 years but it depends on lots of stuff, go to an ortho for a consultation, they'll give you a better estimate
Reply:ask the orthodontist

too many variables. Depends on the amount of overbite, whether you need expanders, is it skeletal or dental or both, etc.
Reply:it may take about 2 years, but shouldn't take more than 3. it may involve surgery for the overbite, but only in severe cases. or at least an appliance for a while. the buck teeth will move back with the braces and shouldn't involve anything extra. every orthodontist does things differently. don't be afraid to ask him what his plan is.
